Shupavu is a Christian, not-for-profit organization based in Uganda, dedicated to expressing the love of Christ in tangible, practical, and compassionate ways. We believe that faith is best demonstrated through service, and our mission is centered on restoring dignity and hope to those who are often overlooked or marginalized. Our primary focus is on empowering people living with physical disabilities so they can experience a renewed sense of worth, inclusion, and purpose in their everyday lives. Through holistic support, advocacy, and skills-building initiatives, we strive to create opportunities that enable them to live independently, participate meaningfully in their communities, and discover the unique gifts God has placed within them. The name “Shupavu,” derived from the Swahili word for “courage,” symbolizes the resilience, perseverance, and inner strength of the individuals and families we serve. It also reflects our conviction that God equips every person with the grace and courage to overcome life’s challenges and step confidently into the fullness of their potential.
